Congratulations! You’re on your way to becoming part of the Charles Sturt University family. A degree is your one-way ticket to realising your potential and turning your career aspirations into reality. All you need to do now is accept your offer to study with Charles Sturt University and get enrolled.
It’s time to get organised. You don’t want to lose your spot and put your future dreams on hold because of a missed deadline.
New to this whole uni thing? No worries. We’ve put together a step-by-step guide to accepting your university offer and enrolling at Charles Sturt.
Activate your login
First things first – keep an eye on your email inbox. This is where your university offer letter will arrive. Your offer letter is your official documentation to study with us.
Your offer letter will contain your login and password. Depending on whether you applied directly or via UAC/VTAC, your username will either be a Charles Sturt University ID number or your UAC/VTAC student number.
Once you have your offer, jump online and activate your account.
Once you’ve activated your account, you’ll be prompted to create a new password.
*Keep a record of your login and new password. You’ll need to it accept your uni offer!
Accept your university offer by the deadline
Important: Be aware of your uni offer deadline. If you miss the deadline, your offer will lapse and you may not be able to study with us in the session you were hoping to.
To accept your offer to study with us, log in using the Charles Sturt University login and password you created in the previous step.
Once you’ve logged in:
- respond to an offer by making a selection under ‘My Offers’
- select the offer you’re accepting and click ‘Submit’
- read through the declaration
- select ‘Accept’ from the drop-down menu
- click ‘Submit’.
And that’s it! High five. You’re officially a Charles Sturt University student.
From here, you’ll receive an email from us confirming your acceptance and welcoming you to the family.
And you’ll also be able to access all our support services, so you can get the inside track before you start your course.
Enrolment
The next phase of your uni offer acceptance is to enrol as a Charles Sturt University student. You can complete your enrolment by working through the sections below.
Remember, we’re here to help. If you get stuck or have a question, you can contact our friendly support team on 1800 275 278.
Personal details
You’ll need to provide us with your personal details and contact information. From time to time, we will send you relevant information about your subjects, course or campus, so it’s important that all the information you supply is correct.
Fees
The next step is to let us know how you’ll be financing your study. There are different payment options available for different students, so it’s best to check out the fees and costs page on our website. From there, you’ll be able to see whether you’re eligible to study first and pay later (HECS-HELP or FEE-HELP loan) or if you need to pay your fees upfront.
While we’re talking finance, it’s also a good idea to get familiar with the range of scholarships and grants we offer. We understand the costs that come with study, so we’re committed to helping make study more affordable. It’s definitely worth making some time in your schedule to apply for as many scholarships and grants as you’re eligible for.
Subjects
Before uni starts, you need to enrol in your subjects. A good place to start is the Handbook. The Handbook is an official resource for students to check which subjects they need to complete and when they are running.
Simply navigate through to your course and jump to the ‘Course Structure’ section. There you’ll get an overview of the subject pathway you need to take to complete your degree. This is a great tool for you to plan your study over the next few years to make sure you graduate on time.

Student Card
All Charles Sturt students receive a student card. The card has multiple uses, so it’s a good idea to arrange it before you start studying. You can use your card for:
- identification on our campuses (including entry to exams)
- dining hall meals for students who live on campus
- access to buildings (including 24-hour computer labs)
- borrowing materials from the library
- access to photocopying, printing and scanning services.
To order your card, submit a photo of yourself via the Student Portal and let our staff take care of the rest. The card will either be sent out to you or you can pick it up on campus, depending on your preference.
Orientation
Orientation is our way of welcoming you to Charles Sturt. Keep an eye out for online and on-campus events to help you transition to study and the wider Charles Sturt community. It’s a great opportunity for you to explore uni life, make new friends and set yourself up for study success.
