On-campus university Orientation: your ultimate guide

If you’re studying or living on campus at Charles Sturt University, attending Orientation is a must! It’s your chance to explore everything we have to offer and immerse yourself in the student culture that makes Charles Sturt so special.

You’ll find out all the information you need to successfully navigate your way through your first few weeks as a student and settle into your studies. There’s loads of support on offer, as well as social activities for you to meet new people and have some fun.

Our advice? Get involved. You’re only a first-year student once – make the most of it!

Welcome to Charles Sturt

The first official event you attend as a Charles Sturt student will be your campus ‘welcome’. It’s a big event held on the first day of Orientation – and it’s our chance to show you what being a student with us is all about.

This event will include an official Welcome to Country by Wiradjuri and Biripai (or Biripi) elders, and you’ll also hear from your Head of Campus and Student Leaders. After the formalities have concluded, it’s time to mingle. There will be plenty of entertainment, activities and stalls for you to get around, and it’s a chance to meet new people.

Here are the key dates – for all campuses.

Online orientation: 12–23 February 2024
On-campus orientation: 20–23 February 2024
