You’re gearing up for your uni adventure and we know you’ve got a long list of questions. That’s cool; it’s good to have some FAQ in your mind when you are starting your uni journey. So, at Charles Sturt University, we thought we’d answer some of those questions about university – and give you a head start on your research.
Top 10 questions about university
1. Is your uni a positive place where people are encouraged to make a difference?
What does a better world look like to you? Does it mean finding a cure for illnesses, improving education, making new discoveries, leading a movement or developing innovative technologies? So if you’ve ever wanted to make a difference in a career you’re passionate about, you can with Charles Sturt University.
Because we believe in making a difference – and we know you do, too. When you’re part of the Charles Sturt community you’ll be empowered to make the world a better place. We connect people to their purpose. We make communities better. And when we make communities better, we create a world worth living in.
2. What types of people are valued at your uni?
We recognise that many people (like you) have so much more to offer than just academic grades – and we’re giving you the chance to get where you want to go (simply by being yourself).
So, at Charles Sturt we’ve changed the way you can apply to study with us. It’s called the Charles Sturt Advantage early offer program and it values some very important skills – soft skills. They’re skills like emotional intelligence, collaboration and communication skills, resilience and also a commitment to creating a world worth living in.
Charles Sturt (and clever employers) are now looking for these soft skills – things that might not always be reflected in your academic results – but they’ll help you excel in the working world.
3. Will going to your uni help you land the job you want?
Going to uni is a big commitment in terms of your time and money. So, when you finish your study you definitely want to be the grad who gets the job.
Employers know Charles Sturt grads are skilled, confident and ready to get to work. And they know Charles Sturt grads have that something extra – the soft skills that give them the edge.
That’s why 89 per cent of Charles Sturt University undergraduates get full-time employment four months after finishing their degree. More of our grads get jobs faster than grads from any other uni – and that could include you!

With Charles Sturt University, you have the flexibility to choose your study path. You can study where and when you like. And we’re here to make sure you that you’re supported while you do it.
